Promote Your Fundraiser

Make your fundraiser successful by promoting it and spreading the word. Here are some tips.

Create your own fundraising page . View some samples

This is a fun and effective way to tell people about your event and keep track of  progress toward your goal.

Text or email your family and friends and give them a link to your own fundraising page.

Use your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, blog, etc.) to spread the word and ask for support.

Below is some copy you can adapt for an email to your family and friends:

I’m raising money for Kids Caring 4 Kids to help African children orphaned by AIDS. Please make a donation by visiting my Kids Caring 4 Kids page at (insert link after you have created your page).  You can donate safely online with a credit card. All donations are secure and are sent directly to KC4K. Kids Caring 4 Kids is all about providing hope and care to vulnerable children in Africa AND inspiring students here to care for those in need. To find out more about the amazing projects your donation will help support, check out their website at www.kidscaring4kids.org. Thanks so much!

Check out the resources at our website AND on the CD-Rom in your  “i care 2” kit.  You’ll find …

- Posters and flyers to print out to announce your event and explain what KC4K is. Or, use them for ideas to create your own.

- Stories you can adapt for local media.

Write a blurb for your group’s website or newsletter.

Check out the sample stories in our resources.

Be our friend on Facebook and Twitter.

Friend KC4K on Facebook and ask your friends to do the same.  Make sure to write on each other’s walls about your upcoming KC4K fundraising event.

Contact your local newspaper or media.

Check out your local newspaper’s website or give them a call to find out how to submit a story about your fundraiser. Contact them early so your information can run at least 2 weeks before your event.

Adapt one of the press releases you’ll find in our resources. Make sure you include the 5 W’s: Who, What, Where, When and Why.

If a reporter wants to do their own story, point them to our "Media Kit" at www.kidscaring4kids.org/newsroom.
