Lifesong School in Kitwe, Zambia

In Kitwe, Zambia, KC4K is partnering with Lifesong for Orphans where they run a school for more than 300 orphans and vulnerable children up through high school. With your help we are able to embrace all areas of the childrens' needs: acedemic achievement, two nutritious meals daily, and health care. 

So far with your support, we've been able to do a lot in collaboration with Lifesong.

Wheaton teen's astounding charity work draws even more attention

Kendall Ciesemier was 11 when an idea to donate $360 to sponsor one child in Africa blossomed into a charity that would raise money for thousands of kids affected by AIDS. In that time, she met a former president, appeared on "Oprah" and raised more than $830,000 through her Kids Caring 4 Kids organization. But a few years later, the motivation that called her to action was starting to wane.

A Dream Come True … I’m Going to Africa!

I can’t believe it!  In June I’m going to Africa. Now I will get to see our efforts of five years in action! My family will travel with our partners in Zambia and South Africa. We’ll visit two orphan care centers we support, a well project, and a bike distribution.

Kerus Orphan Care Center—A Powerful Force for Positive Change in South Africa! 

It’s hard to imagine, but South Africa has an estimated 2 million orphans!  We can’t help them all, but we at KC4K can help some. And that’s why we’re so excited to announce our latest project—this one in partnership with Kerus Global Education. We’re helping to build the Kerus Orphan Care Center near Pretoria, and it will be ready for kids in January.

Kenyan Kids Say Thanks!

Why are these Kenyan students saying thanks? Because KC4K provided the funds to buy 10 acres and build a Girls’ Dorm for orphans in Ngulini—and the kids are watching it go up! Built in partnership with Bright Hope International who has multi-faceted work in this impoverished community, the dorm will be “home” for over 30 girls, mostly AIDS orphans, who now sleep several to a bed in a crowded classroom.

President Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and me! Can you believe it? I was so surprised and so excited to meet President Clinton at my high school and then to be on the Oprah Show the same day. During the show, President Clinton told me that a friend of his was giving KC4K $500,000! Unbelievable! The Oprah Show aired September 4, 2007 and again on Thanksgiving Day.
